In the next few weels teaching series we will be looking at how to read the bible by understanding two things; Kingdom and Covenant. These two literally form the DNA of the bible and open up a simple and profound way to understand Gods dealings with us and with the world that he loves so much.
When Jesus taught his disciples to pray he started with ‘Our Father’. This is a relationship invitation to enjoy the unconditional love of the Father as his family, otherwise know as a covenant.
The second phrase of our Lords prayer is ‘Your Kingdom come’, which is the prayer we bring as sons and daughters who are declaring our obedience to the Father, our responsibility to represent him in the world as good news.
So there will be a lot about covenant and Kingdom, relationship and responsibility. sons and servants, worshippers and warriors.
